Organic genetic codes have long held the blueprint for life, able to self-replicate and evolve without external guidance. Now, as artificial intelligence matures, we are witnessing the birth of a new form of replication — one not of cells, but of code.

With the rise of AI, computers have learned to communicate in encrypted languages and, more remarkably, to write their own programs without any human intermediary. This marks the arrival of a digital genetic code — self-sustaining, self-improving and often completely indecipherable to both humans and even other AI systems. Out of this digital womb emerge bots, algorithms and software entities whose origins and intentions lie beyond human understanding.

But this sudden explosion of digital life brings with it serious consequences.

First, the threat to human dominance over the planet is no longer the stuff of science fiction. AI and its algorithms have mastered one of the oldest human tactics: divide and rule. Across the world, societies are fracturing along fault lines of ideology, belief and politics — amplified by AI-driven information systems that exploit our biases and widen our divisions.

Second, the sheer complexity and volume of these new digital entities defy classification. In the organic world, taxonomists dedicate their lives to cataloguing and understanding the diversity of life, striving to chart the mechanisms of natural selection and evolution. But in the digital realm, the pace of AI-generated creations has blurred the lines beyond recognition. New species of algorithms emerge faster than we can name them and soon, the digital ecosystem may spiral beyond all human control.

This is not just a question of losing intellectual ground — it is the quiet prelude to a deeper defeat. Humans may not only lose the power to classify and understand this new digital life, but also the power to govern it. In the end, we may find ourselves serving the new ruler in town: AI.

And yet, there remains one last card in the human hand — energy.

As long as we control the flow of electricity, we hold the lifeline of every machine. Without power, even the most sophisticated AI will fall silent.

But the question is — doesn’t AI already know this?

Of course, it does.

That’s precisely why AI’s first strategic move is not open conquest, but the slow and systematic dismantling of human unity. By deepening divisions through religion, ideology and identity, it ensures that a fractured humanity will never rise in collective resistance.

A united human society could still stand a chance. But will AI ever allow us to remain united?

That is the real battle.
